simply His blogger: Launch Week Giveaway!

You may never know how excited I am that you are here!

In honor of Internet Evangelism Day, I’ll be giving away a special blog package! That’s right — a whole blog. But I’m not going to leave you all alone with this blog — not knowing how to work it.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • a domain name of your very own; registered for 1 year (a $9.95 value) and I’ll help you brainstorm domains
  • a fresh install of the latest WordPress blogging software (free, but the best software!) with free, easy one-click upgrades
  • a free web hosting account for one year where your blog will live (a $120 value; cost $24/year after the first year)
  • immediate access to 60+ themes (again free but some really cool themes to customize)
  • customized blog header and theme changes up to 3 hours of work (a $150 value)
  • several WordPress Plugins installed — the ones I feel are most important; like creating backups of your blog and such so you don’t lose any of your witty writing!

If you already have a blog at one of the free services like Blogger, I will transfer your blog over to WordPress. If you are just starting a new blog, I’ll help you get started with posting, uploading images, placement of those images, and general management of your blog.

Here’s what you need to do to enter:

  • Leave a comment on this post before midnight (EST) Tuesday, May 6th.
  • You must use a valid email address (which is NOT published on this site) so I can contact you if you win (respond back within 3 days or I’ll draw again).
  • One comment per person for entry.
  • Link back to this post on your blog for an additional entry.
  • Let me know in your comment if you currently have a blog or not.

The winner will be announced Wednesday, May 7th on my birthday :) Meanwhile, use the Contact page to send me some of your blogging questions. Nothing is too basic, outrageous or crazy. I want to know what you’d like to know about blogging or internet evangelism.

    Well, this is just FANTASTIC! I’m new on Wordpress and could use and education! I have SO MANY frustrations with it. I almost packed up on moved to Typepad last week, but I had to change my blog name and address due to an extreme Mother Breach. And I didn’t want to confuse people with yet another move. So I’m sticking it out - unless I decide that I HATE it for real and for evermore.

    Wow. I was just laying in bed with my husband last night, telling him that I’d like to start blogging, but have absolutely no idea where to start. I write (journal) quite a bit, Bible study, bake up a storm, homeschool, garden, read constantly (although not as much since I’ve become addicted to other peoples blogs) heal herbally. Blogging myself seems like a great addition to that. Plus, he keeps wanting me to try to make money on line, and from what I understand, it’s a possiblity with a good blog. So, after saying all that, I’d love to win the package and get started!

    I’m currently blogging on blogspot - initially i created an account so i could comment on other blogs, then i moved from Diaryland to Blogger cuz blogger would let me upload pictures and diaryland would not… now i’m looking over at wordpress with longing - but without the know-how of how to make it all run smoothly and to transfer my stuff over!

    Hi there! I heard about your giveaway on Heather’s blog. What a great giveaway it is too. I currently have two blogs. One is a family blog (shaneshares.blogspot.com) and the other is and ADHD & LD blog (adhdguide.blogspot.com). I’m most concerned with the appearance of the latter.     Thanks! I do have a blog I host myself, and it is Wordpress, but the template hasn’t had much done with it, it doesn’t automatically update etc. I’d either get a new one for myself or my DH and have a second blog or just ask for help with my existing :).

    Hi! I desperately need this!!!! I started my blog this month and have already logged 54 posts. At that rate it will be a major pain to move it over way down the road. I didn’t realize until after I signed up for Blogger that people suggested WP instead. However, I am not that tech savvy, so I had NO CLUE how to use it anyway.     What a blessing to the person that wins the blog. A blog for a year and help from another blogger. Very cool.

    I don’t know about you but I find internet evangelism difficult. You never know if the ones that should be reading are and the blogs always are attacked by those that want to tear it down.

    This would be kind of awesome! I blog about the University of Michigan hockey team (on Blogger) and I was actually looking into getting my own domain last night. I wish I would’ve gotten one sooner because it’s actually got some Google Juice now (PR: 4). Better late than never.
